Bias-ply and radial designs are the two types of tire construction. Bias-ply tires comprises of textile cords such as nylon and sometimes Kevlar while the radial tires are composed of rubber-coated reinforced-steel cable belts. Each type of tire construction has its own particular properties, which plays an important part during its accomplishment. Sipes represents slots cut over the surface of the tire tread.
